well, i guess the point is even if you look at the typical corner commercial lot type building in Chicago, they all followed similar design patterns during the era they were built. its true this one is paying homage to a warehouse in an area not really ever involved in manufacturing, but at the same time no one is actually going to mistake this for an actual former warehouse. at the same time it affords people the amenities they care about, like big windows, lots of natural light, loft "feel", mixed use, etc.
