In 1924, Tally's most probably referred to Tally's Broadway Theater at 833 S Broadway.

The Tally's name was associated with several addresses, including 311 S Spring, 388 S Spring, 262 S Main (the one with all the lights), 544 S Broadway, and 833 S Broadway (Demolished in '29.)

The '23 Directory lists Thomas Tally's residence as 3014
Leaward Ave. I am aware of a "
Leeward" Avenue, currently decorated with apartments, approximately one block south of Bullocks Wilshire.

1941 -
Leeward Ave near Magnolia (
Anything but smooth sailing, if you are driving a Hudson in three feet of water.)

1951 - Leeward Ave and Westmoreland. Just as things seemed to be drying out, a broken fire hydrant.

Griffith's "America," advertised as playing at Tally's, starred Neil Hamilton. A few oldsters may remember Neil playing Commissioner Gordon in the '60s Batman series.
