The time of the scene is in the early evening of the day. The hotel guests definitely get sunlight in the back part of the hotel, but near the street, not so much.

This high-rise is on the same block as the Eastside Provincial Hotel. It's called the MidTime Corporate Financial Building. It was built doing the late early 2000's, so it is one of Midland's newer 'scrapers.'
