About the building being to expensive :
It's not because a building is cheap, that is has to be ugly.
Back to Paris I saw plenty of new social housing building, that are suppose to be cheap, but they were much nicer that some " luxury" building here in Taiwan.
WHY? different regulation, also because of earthquake that make the buildings more bulky. BUT the main reason is a lack of taste, lack of good sense. Lack of taste from from the client, from the enginer and from some Taiwanese architect.
Most of them just want make quick money so they can buy another over the price apartment and a german car. That's their vision of quality of life.
