The original Perino's was at 3927 Wilshire, beginning in '32. I really like how the sort of French Norman thing meets the sort of Streamline Moderne thing. That should happen more often. This was, before becoming Perino's, the Hi Hat restaurant, and was one of the famed Brown Derby rests. from 1931-1932:

And became Perino's for 17 years. Then they moved -- the 4101 Wilshire Perino's was 1949/50. Here's 3927 now; the building that replaced it from 1959:
