Additional funding has been earmarked for the joint
Ottawa Public Library - Library and Archives Canada facility at LeBreton Flats to make it a net-zero facility.
The new funding will allow for:
- upgrades to the building’s envelope and insulation;
- triple-glazed windows;
- solar panels on the rooftop and embedded in the facade;
- additional sustainable materials; and
- an indoor green wall.
The new central library is set to open in late 2024-2025.
