But if you're going to visit your aunt deep in the suburbs or wherever, suddenly having a car matters. But I would imagine that on the whole, downtown to downtown will probably be the most convenient option for the greatest number of people.
In my work, it was far more practical to take the train from Ottawa to Toronto or Montreal and then rent a car or grab a uber to get to the final destination.
