This is really tough. I almost want to add 5 per era! I will leave it to built structures, not even those under construction (which would change my list)
I will do LA, since it's the nearest major skyline to me.
Petronas (somewhere down towards the 10 in South Park)
Jin Mao (over by Chinatown)
Pearl River Tower (fronting FIDM park space)
70 Pine Street (somewhere on Broadway or Main)
Landmark Tower (Little Tokyo)
