There is no rail - in fact, Annapolis is the only state capital east of the Mississippi River that currently has no rail transport of any sort, passenger or freight. There are rail trails where the old lines were. But, if you don't want to drive to Baltimore or DC - and let's go ahead and say this, you don't want to drive to DC, if you can help it. Maryland's transit authority runs a bus from Annapolis to both Baltimore and somewhere in Md. DC suburbs. Probably Silver Spring. There, you just connect with the WMATA system and you're off wherever you want to be. Don't know where in Annapolis those buses depart from. I'm guessing likely around that visitors center and garage where this thread started.
