Like our friend Tom Mix, he learned his trade at the 101 Ranch in Bliss, Oklahoma. In his earliest film appearances he was billed as Charles Jones. Sadly, 'Buck' Jones was one of the 492 victims of the 1942 Coconut Grove fire in Boston Massachusetts, dying two days after the tragic November 28th fire. -noir

Buck Jones...how he died:

The fire moved so fast (12 to 15 minutes beginning to end) it killed many people right at the dining table. Many victims died due to the smoke. Buck was found slumped at his table with 3rd degree burns on his face and around his mouth. He died after lingering in incredible pain at a Boston hospital.

He was on a War Bond tour, had a bad cold that night and had tried to beg off of going out for dinner. Noir for sure!
