We've been in the neighborhood since last spring and there were plenty of warm-weather walkers. Maybe the cold is keeping more people indoors.
It's a great area to stroll in, and the hills (especially heading up Larry Uteck or Southgate from the Bedford Highway) offer a bit of challenge to those who want to take it up a notch.
Looks like Kiel is planning more commercial/retail development for the area:
