Heck, not even horses can walk here in the winter!

A police officer was injured Thursday after she fell from her horse on Halifax’s Citadel Hill.

The female officer, a rider with Halifax Regional Police’s mounted unit for about four years, was riding Cruiser on the grass along Rainnie Drive. They were at the base of Citadel Hill across from the parking lot behind Centennial Pool at 12:25 p.m. when the horse slipped and the officer fell.

Her horse, also known as Cruise, was soon rounded up on Citadel Hill without injury, police said.

The officer, however, was taken to hospital with a non-life-threatening injury to her leg.
