It's a scary intersection to cross and there is no way to pedestrianize it considering the importance of the arterial road routes.

A bridge can
harm the pedestrian experience by lengthening the route. This along with the need to ascend/descend is not good for the elderly and disabled. Sure, you could leave the ground-level crossing in place, but then what's the point?
