Not at all. If it's just "skin", it would look the same, with just another layer over it. What you call the "skin" was actually the designed element of the mast, not the hidden innerworkings. It doesn't take a lot of imagination to see the difference. But even if that were the case, it still wouldn't be the same. You don't even have to take my word for it...

I'm certain the lighting will look nice, but it will be in the sense that anything can look nice with lighting - it's actually the lighting that will look nice. Or think of it this way, would you rather highlight a piece of architecture, or the frame beneath?
