"HARTFORD — Tweed-New Haven Airport is ramping up efforts to establish itself as Connecticut’s second major airport alongside Bradley International, with its eye on air passengers from the New Haven area and the southern half of the state.
A fledging low-cost carrier has made Tweed-New Haven its East Coast hub and will begin flying nonstop routes to Florida later this year. And, on Thursday, the airport won a crucial approval from the city of New Haven, a significant step toward a longer-term, $70 million expansion that could add a $45 million terminal by the fall of 2024, possibly sooner..."
