The place was securely locked but after reading the note not the front door I wondered when the board meeting would be re-scheduled, and if I could pop in to see the interior.

Going out on a limb.

Interior photos associated with Gov. H T Gage. Unfortunately, I these appear to be of Gage's Sacramento residence when he was running the State. As Gage had the where-with-all to bring the best to his So Cal home, these pics might serve to provide an idea of what a much earlier board meeting might have seen.

The date provided is April 1916, which would have been 13 years after Gage left office. I therefore question both the date and maybe even the given location. (I am sure of very little.) Noirishers, draw your own conclusions.

1916 (?)

1916
Caption reads: "Cook working in kitchen of Governor Gage's Home - [New Electric Range on left and old wood fueled range in alcove at end of kitchen]"

Peekaboo

1916 - Merely for context. This is said to be Gov. Gage's residence in Sacramento. No less provincial than many of the other mainhouses seen in recent photos?
