The hotel at 717 Central NW that is planned to be restored and transformed into the Arrive Hotel has been added to the National Register of Historic Places. This will allow the developers to qualify for certain historic preservation tax credits that should help the project get off the ground.

Holmes Pizza and Arcade opened yesterday in the Imperial Building downtown. It's only takeout right now but hopefully it will get to open to indoor dining and the arcade soon.

We've had business losses downtown due to the pandemic but I'm glad that we've still been seeing new businesses open as well. It's very heartening and gives hope for the future when all this is behind us and things get back to normal.

Albuquerque Economic Development recently held its quarterly investor's meeting and its new president, Danielle Casey, told the audience that there has been an uptick in business recruitment and expansion in Albuquerque over the last year.

Nearly 50 potential recruitment projects are now in the pipeline, including companies involved in professional services, renewable energy, aerospace and information technology, Casey said. In addition, local business expansions are up 22%, creating 875 net new jobs and $30 million in new investment.
