To add to this... Similar to hockey, how the Gretzky highlights show nice pristine sponsor-less boards. Soccer jerseys used to just have the small crest on the heart of the jersey, and the remainder would be blank.
Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao both held out on shirt sponsors until something like 2010. I miss the old jersey looks, but I get it's a business. So as long as it's not like United's Chevy jersey or that one jersey I saw that was a giant Home Depot sign, I'm A-okay with it.
Hopefully I'll be able to get to Halifax to catch a few matches!
