On my cellphone I downloaded McAfee anti-virus for iOS and that seemed to help. Switching browsers didn't really.
*PS: I also keep my computer pretty clean with Intego Virusbarrier and Malwarebytes.

It has nothing to do with the provider or the browser--I'm regularly getting phishing to download a Flash upgrade on my iMac using Safari with Comcast broadband.
