This is being mischaracterized as a HRM approval. While Council voted positively on this, as a junior level of govt to the province they have no power to stop it. This is simply a feel-good motion to save face for all in this debacle.
As for the reduction in parking, either Mason, Austin & co. expect sick people to ride bicycles to the facility, or there will be another shoe to drop at some point.
