Anyway, the main gist of the meeting was that the purchase of 2 new locomotives would probably be sufficient to increase the OTP, which was a big complaint of riders at the meeting. Also, adding a single siding would double the capacity of the line, and if I heard correctly, adding a second siding would increase capacity 6X. Longer term expansions to Torrington or Bristol/New Britain aren't on the radar currently.

I think the Waterbury Branch will take a backseat to any real upgrades and extensions till the other branches and SLE get there expansions... Torrington can wait another 10-15 years while Bristol/New Britain might be more urgent with the I-84 Rebuild.
