WATERBURY -- The addition of two late-night weekend trains on the Waterbury branch of Metro-North Railroad has increased weekend ridership by about 8 percent -- less than two months since the new service went into effect.

Waterbury branch riders to meet Tuesday

WATERBURY — Rail riders will meet this week to discuss the Waterbury branch, including current issues and future projects, on Tuesday at the Naugatuck Train Station.

The meeting, which starts at 7 p.m., was organized by Jim Gildea, vice-chairman of the Connecticut Rail Commuter Council. Metro-North Railroad's Waterbury branch superintendent, Michel Donnarumma, is planning to attend.
