I'm starting to think that a lot of developers were waiting for the inevitable closing of the municipal airport before going full bore with their projects. Like, they were chomping at the bit to get in there but had to wait for that closure.
That would explain Edmonton's lackluster skyline (until recent projects, I mean) It's a boomtown and really should have been much more developed than it has been. Now it's suddenly being flooded with tall buildings even though the market was always there.
