There was talk earlier in the decard about converting the existing railway tunnel into a truck tunnel, but it never panned out. It was labeled the "Jobs Tunnel", and would have relieved the Ambassador Bridge of trucks leaving automobiles for the existing Detroit-Windsor Tunnel and Ambassador Bridge, which can be backed up for
miles into the neighborhoods on both sides of the bridge, idling.
