Downtown Memphis Commission considers another Main Street renovation — its own HQ
By Jacob Steimer – Staff Reporter, Memphis Business Journal
Quote:
The organization wants to put on a hard hat with a proposed renovation of the old North Memphis Savings Bank building, which has been the Downtown Memphis Commission's (DMC) home for more than 20 years. The renovation would include the five vacant floors at the top of the building and would have to be approved by the commission's board and the board of the Center City Development Corp… The renovation would provide about 5,500 square feet of leasable office space in the skinny tower, according to the letter. Construction would cost between $2.3 million and $3 million, plus about 7 percent more in soft costs.
