That adds to a murder-suicide about a week ago where a son killed his 75 year old mother before doing himself in.
Just to add to that:

2008 HOMICIDES IN HRM:

The discovery of a body Sunday morning is the fifth homicide in Halifax Regional Municipality this year:

•Paul Saunders, a 21-year-old Quebec man, died April 5 after he was stabbed during a party at a Cowie Hill Road apartment building in Halifax. A 17-year-old Halifax boy will go on trial for second-degree murder in December.

•Gregory Fost, a 37-year-old Halifax man, was stabbed to death April 23 at a Windmill Road apartment in Dartmouth. Kenneth Humphreys, 45, who lived nearby, is charged with second-degree murder. He will be in provincial court June 24 to schedule his preliminary hearing date.

•Jaumar Carvery, 21, of Halifax was shot to death May 3 on a sports field next to Uniacke Square. No one has been arrested, although police say it was not a random act. The investigation continues.

•Roberta Jollimore, 75, of Halifax was killed by her son, Greg Jollimore, 52. He then committed suicide. Police discovered their bodies inside their Willow Street home on May 23 after a colleague became concerned because Mr. Jollimore hadn’t come to work at Dalhousie University for a number of days.

•The body of a 65-year-old man who had been stabbed to death was discovered Sunday near St. Patrick’s-Alexandra School on Maitland Street in Halifax. The investigation continues.

Cavery and yesterday's murder both happened in Uniacke Square, our ghetto. Its a rough place to live and a lot of locals live off of welfare. Unlike the T-dot Halifax's murders are usually located in certain areas; Uniacke Square, Highfield Park/Albro Lake and Spryfield. So far 4 out of 5 have happened in these general areas.
