In the entire country of Canada, frankly, Victoria BC. Great weather, decent built environment, lots of restaurants, recreation and amenities and overall a very pleasant and scenic vibe to be in. Being on an island though really magnifies issues with its smaller size by not being able to drive out and pick something up, but it's generally pretty self sufficient.

Otherwise if I'm not within earshot of Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal or Calgary (honorable mention to Ottawa) I'm out of here. Small town Canada is absolute hell in the dead of winter.

In the US I could probably be happy being in a smaller metro on the West Coast, like Eugene, San Luis Obispo or Spokane, or maybe Boise if it qualifies. Taking the big assumption that any of these choices would provide employment.
