Some of you might not like this.

As pro-development as I am, this sucks. I can understand demolishing some crappy midrises for 1 Vanderbilt or maybe this for a supertall, but not a 14 story structure.

Demolition of Prospect Heights Bank Set to Make Way for 14-Story Tower

Quote:
A Prospect Heights landmark may soon find itself on the business end of a wrecking ball: DNAInfo reports that the Green Point Savings Bank building, located on Washington Avenue just north of the Brooklyn Museum, is set to be demolished, with a 14-story condo building due to take its place. The developer, Slate Property Group, bought the building in January for $6.5 million.

[...]

The new building will be designed by the firm Kutnicki Bernstein Architects, designers of many new residential developments in Manhattan and Brooklyn, including the former “Colony 1209” at 1209 Dekalb Ave. in Bushwick, a project that changed its name this summer following an outcry by activists and elected officials who said the building’s marketing smacked of colonialism.
