Sorry to burst your bubble my friend but Melbourne is currently Australia's fastest growing city expanding by around 100,000 per year and now beyond the 4,000,000 mark!

At this rate Brisbane will never surpass Melbourne but Melbourne may well supass Sydney to again be the country's most populous city in as short a time period as a decade or so.
