The option of hopping on the train for a couple of hours for a weekend in Toronto and Montreal (for those inevitable times when one yearns to try some new restaurants etc) is so invaluable. In all of Canada, really only Kingston can offer that option. Also, having the riches of Prince Edward County next door is a huge benefit as well.
