Downtown Newark Update for 4.21.15 from Brandon Nagle

Quote:
Shop-Rite apartments are topped out

Prudential Tower

Teacher's Village

Halsey Street side has reached its full height. The back half will rise another 2 floors.

Replacement of the Calumet Building.

15 Washington

Cablevision Garage (490 Broad Street)

Corner of James Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard will soon have a 5 story apartment building with a ground floor retail store and the adjacent 3 story brick building will be renovated. 77 apartments in all. This project was to be a part of the NJIT Gateway Project, so I guess it would count as Phase 2 (Honors dorm was phase 1.) The Gateway plan from 2007 describes it on pages 23 and 24. The actual project will be far different.

The public notice board is a result of the new zoning ordinance called NZLUR and pronounced "NUZZ-LER"
