Yeah, which isn't really an acceptable solution, especially when there is tons of road space to create pedestrian space. Luckily it looks like the full closure was only very temporary while they got everything in place. Last time I went by they had pylons creating a sidewalk in the road. Hopefully that becomes a little more permanent with concrete barriers; it's definitely a vulnerable place to be a pedestrian.
