I thought it's about time I post some newfound LAPL images myself. ^^
I don't recall seeing this view of "my" Post Office before. It looks almost brand spanking new here...

Or this one, from 1937, soon before it was razed. Prior to this, I did not know that the block immediately north of the old Post Office was demolished before the P.O. itself (far right). Several historically important buildings are also visible on the east side of Main Street here. There's the Baker Block (1877) at far left. The streetlight pole just left of center points directly to the almost impossibly old
Bella Union Hotel. It was first constructed as a single-storey residence c.1835. In succession, it subsequently became the last capitol of Alta California, the county's first courthouse, and the city's first hotel. To the immediate left of the Bella Union is the Pico Building, built in 1868, two years before the Pico House. (Thanks to Brian Hsu's
