Driving off the beaten track is the best way to enjoy Ontario. The main highways are boring. 10km is nothing. I've driven 30,000km in 6 months. I often take the gravel roads between KW and Stratford/London/Lake Huron because they're more interesting, no traffic and I can go faster.
I go out of my way to avoid farmer's markets - not a fan of crowds.
