I love Nissen Castle in downtown Winston-Salem's IQ District. It was a freight wagon manufacturer in the days of the horse and buggy. The basement had large furnaces to heat/melt metal. It's condos and the headquarters of Black Horse Studio today. The entire neighborhood is tech companies and residences.
The block streets (above) are original and give it a great historic setting.
