Swedish small town with 1 highrise, Höganäs.

I spent the day in Höganäs, a small town of 13550 inhabitants. In the old times it was a small fishing
village, but in the 1800’s it developed into a mining (clay and coal) village with a large ceramic
industry. Among Swedes the town is known for the salt-glazed Höganäs jars.

1 The newly built highrise (44 meter). It stands out, that’s for sure.

2 A sculpture by Anthony Gormley on a square.

3 The church, built in the 1930’s. Architect: Ivar Tengbom.

7 Some newly built lowrises.

8 I like the lamp.

9 Weird & corny restaurant with great food! I had fried herring with mashed potatoes and lingonberries for lunch.

13 This house was built as a theater in 1883. In the early 1900’s it was turned into a movie theater.

19 This is so Swedish: 2 smala m mos = Two thin sausages with mashed potatoes. With lingonberries!

23 This is a rather new residential area. I like the architecture, but unfortunately I didn't take more pics.

34 This house was destroyed after two arson attacks a few years ago. Now it’s been very nicely rebuilt.

Hope you enjoyed!
