An interesting historical tidbit about the BioScience Research Collaborative: It is built on the former site of the Tidelands Motor Inn, where in 1960,
in its Tidelands Club, the album "The Button Down Mind of Bob Newhart" was recorded. The album became a huge hit and the rest is comedy and TV history.
For years it was used as graduate student housing. I still miss the neon palm tree.
