If you remove NYC from the over 500+ foot | 150+ m tall towers currently under construction in the US you are still left with 58 towers U/C across the nation at that height or taller.

Miami & Chicago alone would account for 30% of that total now.

When was the last time we had 15 American cities outside of NYC simultaneously building towers over 500+ feet ?

As Steely dan said :
