I don't think heights are considered official until the building is completed, not just topped out. I am not exactly sure where I heard that but maybe someone else here will know more. Also, we have not had a ruling yet on the official height (will the mast that supports communication equipment be ruled a spire and architectural or not), so all we can say for sure is that it will soon be the tallest building in New York, for a minute at least.

You could say that it is currently one of the tallest structures in the Western Hemisphere, but the CN tower and a few TV masts have it beat. But yeah, nice to see it TO. I can't wait for 2 to start going up.
