ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — KMK Capital CEO Justin Ladha says the real estate development and service company is transforming St. John's landscape and breathing new life into tired commercial spaces.

"We're transforming the east end, and other areas," said Ladha. "Each property we get and work on will look, feel and be the quality of brand new construction."

Recent endeavours include the conversion of the former Target building, now housing PAL Airlines. The transformation of the building signifies a commitment to repurposing spaces for contemporary needs, said Ladha.

Ladha said the old Costco building in the city's east end will evolve into a state-of-the-art medical and clinic space.

"Costco's transformation is a strategic move to address community needs," said Ladha.


"We've designed a section for funded clinics, aiming to provide essential medical services. Our focus remains on enhancing community health care."

The old Rona building at 710 Torbay Rd. stands completely leased, hosting a technology innovation centre and Planet Fitness.

"We're working on the exterior of the building and it is going to look like new," Ladha said. "The parking lot will be new, and the interior will be modern with the latest in technology."

Developments in Churchill Square in St. John's will introduce a blend of residential and retail spaces.

“Currently, we have a successful collaboration with Shopper's (Drug Mart) operating out of the bottom of our new building, which provides convenience for the community,” said Ladha.

“Looking ahead, our plans include introducing a residential property in the same area, creating a dynamic space that integrates living and retail.”

Ladha outlined some of the future plans for KMK Capital.

"Our vision for the future is to continue redefining commercial spaces, fostering vibrant communities in St. John's," he said. “We plan to carry out the ongoing work over the next 24 months, intending to have everything occupied in the next four years.”

Ladha added that this positions KMK Capital as a driving force in the city's evolution.
