The boundaries of downtown are always debated by Chicagoans. I like to consider the Loop (defined by the elevated train that cirlces the central business district) our true downtown. However if you ask someone from the suburbs they will tell you Wrigley Field is "downtown".

I would consider North Ave on the north, Halsted on the west and Roosevelt on the south the downtown boundaries.
