The Pan Am is a brutalist masterpiece. Anybody who says otherwise can take a hike. Vanderbilt will never overshadow the pure power and majesty of that concrete crusted old beauty. When it was first unveiled, it was a phenomenal building that took your breath away. It has lost its luster but the mere presense of the young pup next door will never truly impinge upon the immense power and majesty that it thrusts on to the visual axes of Park Avenue.
