Was last there in 2000. Had a great time. We stayed at an unusual hotel near the train station. There were six floors in the building, and each floor was a separate hotel. One level's hotel looked really scary, while the others were OK. On the ground floor, part of the building was held up by makeshift posts due to earthquake damage. That wasn't very reassuring.

Had lots of fun and of course saw Michelangelo's David, which I believe was 17 feet tall. The building it is in didn't stand out, and we were surprised when we realized that the building was actually the museum (Galleria dell'Accademia).

The noisy vespas were amazing. They were like swarms of insects.

I did a self-ridden Vespa tour and it was a great way to see the city and the surrounding countryside!
