A lot of tall buildings being built or proposed nowadays don't have the soul of the ones from the 1930s or 1980s. They are big, but they don't stand out as landmarks. They are just kind of awkward.

I bet if you had a classroom full of elementary school kids draw a picture of their city, lots of them would be able to doodle a picture of the Willis Tower if they were from Chicago, or the BoA tower in Houston. None of them would draw the ugly square condo towers that are going up now.
