Well even if it does look taller, so what. It will make the skyline a little more intersting and break up the plateau it currently has. Plus, a 1000ft-er if designed right could end up being the sum-all-be-all icon of Vancouver. Take for example the Eiffel Tower and Empire State Building. Both were lamented in their infancies over how much bigger they were than everything else, ESP. the Eiffel tower. Nowadays if you think of Paris or New York you will think of these two magnificent structures. An iconic supertall would be great for Vancouver, IMO.
