Exactly.
Plus having EDR means a maximum speed limit of 110 km/h is achievable.
It’s insane: MTO goes all over the top to perfect the design for freeways but leaves no thoughts about EDR’s (unless converting a 2-lane arterial into a freeway requires full-on realignment). I would rather just have diamond interchanges everywhere with a paved 6-metre wide EDR in a reasonable distance.
