I say, bulldoze everything that's in the way so the end result matches the initial goal and vision. Wide open plaza's, trees, a small park or two for a dog (I have no idea where people walk their dogs around there...as there are ZERO parks / green space.) Then it will become a huge draw for downtown, connect to both shopping areas and Temple square. I love the vision and idea. The current, one story, massive warehouse looking, convention center is a complete waste of space. Actually, I think most convention centers need to move out to the suburbs. ... again, just my opinion.
