The ‘Golf Ball’ Arena – 20,000
The owners of New York’s Madison Square Gardens have released an image for a 20,000 capacity arena that they propose to construct adjacent to Stratford station in East London. The rather spectacular design – already given the name: the ‘Golf Ball’ – is spherical in design, 130m tall, and would be elevated off the ground by a series of giant pylons.

The ‘Golf Ball’ would be a direct competitor to AEG’s 02 Arena (also 20,000 capacity) which is just three stops south on the Jubilee Line, and Wembley Arena (12,500 capacity) over in north-west London (also on the Jubilee Line).
