The three ferries were commissioned by then-NDP premier Glen Clark in the late 1990s for over $450 million, but were pulled from regular service after continuous breakdowns. In July, the vessels were sold to a yacht yard in the United Arab Emirates, for an amount believed to be more than $20 million
