If the numbers are to be believed, and I do question how real that is, versus hyped, 6M sqft is a lot to add, downtown has somewhere in the 8M-10M range depending on what you count as downtown, so it is either a 60 or 75% increase in office space. That is huge.
I also think it would help sell the BART plan for funding, as we need lots more riders to get the extension to not be a massive subsidy.
